A list of plugins and tools I use within Blender.
Wow, there are a lot of these. Instead of making an exhaustive list, I’ll try and hit the highlights, from the top of the enabled filter.
- Copy Attributes Menu, under the 3D view, is great for bouncing materials, physics, poses and loads of other things between objects.
- Extra Objects, under Add Curve, is useful only when there’s something I don’t want to model. Mostly helix’s and spirals.
- Sapling and IvyGen, also under Add Curve, are easy ways to make and add vegetation. Definitely a good thing to read or watch tutorials about, as these are not well documented.
- Simplify Curves, which rounds out the Add Curve category, makes a big difference in animation, where it’s a quick way to get your keys back into some semblance of order.
- ANT Landscape, part of Add Mesh, is useful for quick and dirty landscapes. Easy to sculpt afterwards as well.
- Animall, with the Animation category, is something you should have enabled by default if you’re doing animation. It increases the range of things you can add a key frame to the entirety of the program. As it is, I’m more surprised when something cannot be keyed than when it can.
- Currently I use BlenderMada, which is faster and has better curation for materials. I used to use Matalaogue, an organizer for materials in the node editor, and this online materials library.
